Export to access access database

it would appear that only the first 8 characters of a computer name are used when exporting to database so 2 computers each audited once appear at 1 computer audited twice
computer names are jfditlt1 & jfditlt2

the computer_master table fully_qualified_domain_name field only shows the name as jfditlt

Hi jfawcliffe,

I got your other message too. I'm not clear what is happening here. Normally data should not be truncated. E-mail me the mdb/accdb file.
For both machines, start the logger (Help->Start Logger), run the job then send to Access. Send me those as well.

The WinAudit programme collects various computer identifiers then tries to see if any of those are already in the computer_master table.
The SMBIOS normally has a unique identifier stored in it by the computer's manufacturer. That identifier is given priority. The computer's name
is a low quality indentifier so that would only be used as a last resort. In the the log file there should be a message like "Matched compuiter using identifier XXXX"
Send me the log files.
