No groups in reports

Hi!

In version v2.29 when you created a report, on the left side you saw the groups/categories (just like "System devices"), and you could expand them and see the devices under these groups categories.

In v3(0.11) there are only the group/category names for every devices, so you now see a lot of "System devices", "Storage volumes", "Sound, video and game controllers" etc., but not the name (Description) of the actual device.

v3: Image

Is it a bug or a "feature"?

Thanks!

Hi pasztorlaszlo,

The layout of the data has changed. This was done to standardise how the programme formats data for sending to a database etc. Many devices do not have a name but do have description. The user interface reflects this. Presenting the devices as a list of "Device Types" as it is currently makes the code simpler and easier to maintain but does mean any customisation for more user friendly reporting has gone. In this respect, the older version of WinAudit was better but we want to keep things simple as WinAudit is a simple utility. Its not a bug but I wouldn't call it a desirable feature either. Best to describe it as a limitation of a simple utility.
